ZE-550C Russell & Erwin Reproduction Victorian Door Plate circa 1870
Larger back plate by R&E, which was patented on Jan 25, 1870. Shown in the 1870 catalog with our Grape Motif doorknob. Ours is recast from an original antique in solid brass, then given an "antique" patina, and sealed with lacquer.
Distance from the center of the knob to the center of the keyhole round bit is 2 1/4". Use our Victorian mortise lock, ZB-299WN (2 5/8" backset) or ZB-400WN (2 1/4" backset), which have a decorative faceplate and strikeplate.
Don't forget to select an R&E reproduction doorknob, either the grape motif knob mentioned above, or we suggest floral knob ZE-983, for a welcoming entry. We offer 11 doorknob choices in the R&E Series.
Measures 8" tall by 2 5/8" wide.
