Here is an outstanding double door entrance plate set from the Corbin catalog for 1905. Naturally, they made this before this time, but this is just the first reference we could find. Corbin gave this plate style the name "Toulon Design," which is of the French Renaissance school of design.

This is a Complete Entry Door Set for double or French-type entry doors.

The Set Includes:

• One Interior Door Plate with Turnlatch Function
• One Exterior Door Plate
• Two "Handle Only" Dummy Door Plates
• One Mortise Lock
• One Cylinder Lock

Measurements:

• Doorplates:  3 ½" wide by 22 ¼" tall.
• Entry Mortise Lock:
  • Lock Body:  5 ½" tall x 3 ⁵⁄₈" deep.  ¹³⁄₁₆" thickness.
  • Backset:  2 ½", including the thickness of the face plate.
  • Distance from the center of the bolt throw hole to the center of the door knob spindle hole is 2 ½".
  • Distance from the center of the cylinder receiver to the thumb latch stem is 4 ¾".
  • Lock Face:  1" wide by 7 ½" tall.
  • Catch Plate:  4 ⁷⁄₈" long by 1 ⁷⁄₈".
