In Victorian times, wall sconces were called "bracket lights" or simply "brackets". Companies such as HJ Peters of Chicago, and Gibson Gas of Philadelphia made nearly identical brackets, making only minor changes from one another. Today, they're used to illuminate not only a bathroom vanity, but hallways, staircases, and more.

For an earlier period décor, try a candle chandelier. To place your Victorian home in the transitional period at the turn of the century, use the candle & electric chandelier.
