633-AES-NW Polished Unlacquered Brass Gaslight Reproduction Male Figural Newel Post Light Circa 1860 {PICTURED}
633-DKAES-NW Antique Brass Finish Victorian Replica Male Figural Newel Post Light
Both this male figural light, and 634-MAG-NW (Female Figure) are circa 1860-70, with a disguised on/off switch. See the flower on the six-sided urn-shaped part? Well, the center part of the flower is the switch.
Great additional light for your entry. These lights were often used in pairs, when the staircase had two newel posts at the bottom of the stairs. If you don't have double newel posts, try one at the top of the stairs, and the other at the bottom.
Please use the menu above to select your choice of finish. Available in polished unlacquered brass, or our hand-finished "antique brass" patina.

Shade sold separately. Fixture uses a 2 5⁄8" fitter glass shade, indicating early gaslight. We picture 061G as a suggestion, but offer 11 beautiful crystal hand-cut shades.
In addition to the newel posts, we have several fixtures in the same mode. Pictured here also are our Zeus or Jupiter chandelier, and a Phoenix sconce. How about a Mercury sconce? We also make a wall sconce in the same male figural casting. Put an end to boring light fixtures!
