Solid brass gaslight "Pillar" Light, reproduced from gas lights originally made by R. Williamson & Co., Chicago, Ill.  Polished brass, quality cast for a luxurious timeless appeal.  If you prefer an "antique" tone, we can hand-finish to a custom patina at our warehouse for you.  See the menu above for options.

These lights were used to illuminate shop counters and saloons' bars, as well as home newel posts.  For a long staircase, one would be placed at each turn of the stairs.  What a novel way to add light to your entry!

Fixture uses a 4" shade fitter.  Shades sold separately.  We picture our
pressed glass Cupid shade as a suggestion, but have many 4" fitter shades to choose from. If you like this fixture as it is pictured, we offer a convenient menu option above to purchase this light with the pictured shades.

Changing the shade can completely change the appearance of the light fixture. Using a simple Mission shade and an Oil Rubbed Bronze Finish would make this practical light blend well in Arts & Crafts or Mission décor.

These fixtures were usually wired into the post, and controlled with a wall switch. A custom installed On/Off switch is available on the base for an extra $25.00.

The precision cast vase is repeated in several of our complementary fixtures, such as the sconce 606-TRP-GE, or the small chandelier 714-QGS-CH.  This same fixture is available as a lamp, 314-QGS-PL.  Gas fixtures could be portable, with hoses leading to the gas tank under the counter, house, or in the yard.
