The Devon Series: This is an outstanding chandelier re-creation from one of America’s BEST Art Deco manufacturers during the Depression times. Mid-West Manufacturing of Kansas City made only the best, even during the worst economic times in America. Even in the bad times, there are still folks who are clever and make money. Mid-West catered to them.
Here is the most outstanding, top-of-the-line fixture of the Devon Group, made circa 1934. Having six shades, it is just so classy. Those side slip shades were made with a strap to help hold them in position, instead of popping out too easily.
This fixture, cast by the lost wax casting process, is made from solid brass and offered in either polished, unlacquered yellow brass, antique finish, or nicely nickel plated (pictured) for just the right touch. Quality! Use the menu above to select your finish and choice of shades. Shades are included.
We also offer the matching sconce in the Devon series, 125-DES-X. If you need just replacement shades for an antique fixture, we sell both the slip shade, and the bottom shade.
Each socket can handle up to a 100 watt incandescent bulb, or purchase our optional LED Art Deco looking bulb 9W-E26CN-X, using only 9 watts and putting out about 100 watts of incandescent equivalent light. Makes running the chandelier all night long, perhaps as a nite lite, very economical indeed and cool to the shades as well.
Normally supplied 36” long by 20” wide.
Can be as short as 28” tall with only one chain link. Can be made longer by adding chain by special order.
UL approved up to 100 watts incandescent per socket, yielding 600 total watts for this fixture.
In order to match historical appearance, some colored shades are made using a water based dye or paint. Clean with a soft dry cloth. Do not wet.
Many of our glass shades are made using original molds and methods. Both antique and reproduction shades sometimes contain small bubbles. These are historically accurate, and not considered defects.
