R&E (or Russell and Erwin) were the top-of-the-line home hardware manufacturers of the Victorian era.  This set is lost wax cast from an antique original.

Rare Victorian oversize mail slot, originally sold as newspaper slots, now perfect for today's mail.

Lost Wax cast in solid brass for excellent detail.  Also equipped with a spring-loaded door that closes after mail is dropped in.

Letter Slot Measurements:

• Width:  10 ¾"
• Height:  3 ¾"
• Slot Dimensions:  7 ⁷⁄₈" wide by 2".
• Screw centers on 9 ³⁄₈" cc.

The mail slot is placed on the outside of the door.  Sink the acorn nuts below the surface of the wood, then install the matching backplate.

Each set contains one spring-loaded letter slot, and one backplate.
