This is a 6" diameter face or hand solid brass towel ring, which projects 1 3/8" from the wall.  The backplate has a nice beaded edge, and is 3" in diameter.  It's made of unlacquered, polished brass.  If you prefer an aged look, order our hand-darkened "antique" finish.
