Victorian Gas & Electric Triple Sconce Nickel Plated (705-TGE-NP)

705-TGE-NP  Nickel Plated Light Reproduction Victorian Gas & Electric Triple Sconce

Victorians would have called this a "bracket" or "wall bracket".  We know them as sconces, and this is a versatile beauty that will offer up to 300 watts of light.  Transitional sconces mark the time when electricity was new and thus unreliable, and you kept your gaslight capability as a backup.  Chrome or nickel plated lights were often placed in the areas that needed to be "sanitary" - kitchens and bathrooms.

Glass shades for the electric "down" lights are held by a lovely shaped fitter called a "Hubbel" fitter.  "Hubbel" electric fitters are 2¼" size.  Changing the shade changes the complete appearance of the light.  Fixture uses 2¼" fitter shade.  Shades are sold separately.  We picture 072G as a suggestion.

The gas "up" shade is 4" fitter size, and we show 073G to match the electric shades.  You can use an antique shade, or we have many 4" glass shades from which to choose.  The beautiful pierced brass fitter allowed heat to dissipate from the gaslight.

Light Measurements:

Height:  6 1316" without shades, measured from the top gas fitter to the bottom of the downward-facing Hubbel fitters.  15 716" with the pictured shades.

Width:  14 ¾" without shades; 16 ¾" with the pictured shades.

Projection:  8" from the wall into the room.

Wattage:  The standard medium base sockets are rated to handle 100 watts incandescent each, yielding up to 300 watts incandescent total.

If you'd like an On/Off switch added to the base, we offer custom installation of the switch for only $25.00.  Please click the "Yes" option in the "Add Switch?" menu above to add the switch to your cart.

We are proud to offer this transitional sconce in an antique brass finish, and in our highly polished brass as well.

A default amount will appear on your shopping cart, and you are invoiced for actual freight charges.
