This lovely Art Nouveau Series is all solid cast brass.  Art Nouveau was popular from the late 1800's through the Edwardian times in the early 1900's.  Graceful, flowing lines that highlighted the beauty of nature distinguish the style.

This complete set comes with a pair of Asian motif lady doorknobs.  In our opinion, for true spirit of the Art Nouveau period, there cannot be a finer doorknob anywhere.  The antique original is marked "Russwin", formerly R&E, the famous Russell & Erwin manufacturers.  We assume that the originals were custom made, not a stock item.  The Morris influence is strong in this design.

This Interior Mortise Privacy Set locks from one side using a turnlatch.

Each Set Includes:

• 1 Door Plate with Lower Doorknob Only Function
• 1 Door Plate with Lower Doorknob & Turnlatch Function
• 2 Doorknobs with the Connecting Spindle
• 1 Mortise Lock with Turnlatch Function (choice of 2 ¼" or 2 ⁵⁄₈" backset)

Measurements:

• Doorplates:  2 ¾" wide x 10" tall.
• Doorknobs:  2 ¼" diameter; each projects 1 ¾".
• Mortise Locks:
  • 2 ¼" Backset Lock:
    • Lock Body:  3 ¾" tall x 2 ⁷⁄₈" deep x ⁵⁄₈" thick.
    • Faceplate:  1" wide x 6" tall; ³⁄₁₆" thick.
    • Strike Plate:  4 ½" tall x 1" wide (plus tongue).
    • Distance from the center of the turnlatch receiver to the center of the doorknob spindle hub is 2 ½".
  • 2 ⁵⁄₈" Backset Lock:
    • Lock Body:  3 ¾" tall x 3 ³⁄₁₆" deep, and ⁵⁄₈" thick.
    • Faceplate:  1" wide x 6" tall; ³⁄₁₆" thick.
    • Strike Plate:  4 ½" tall x 1" wide (plus tongue).
    • Distance from the center of the turnlatch receiver to the center of the doorknob spindle hub is 2 ½".
