ANT-968 Antique Lincoln Mfg Quality Slip Shade Chandelier Circa 1935
This 5 shade chandelier was made by Lincoln Manufacturing who were ONE of the largest makers of slip shade lighting in America, and who, even sold to Sears. We “know” Lincoln design and castings quite well, having handled hundreds of their various products.
This particular chandelier is unique because of the design of the shades. It came from the series called “Dynalite”
It has attributes are DIFFERENT from Virden or Markel or Acme or Frankenlite or Halcolite or Globe. The positioning of the shade, being upside down, was a favorite variation of Lincoln that was hardly ever used by any other manufacturer.
The fixture is aluminum with an old-gold finish—some wear here but we like to leave antiques looking like antiques. And this chandelier surely does look antique with a surface finish commensurate with it’s age and use. Great, if you love old worn persian carpets. If you need “perfect”, don’t buy this chandelier.
Lincoln Mnf was an aluminum foundry rather than cast iron or cast zinc.
The shades are just so neat. Amber glass with floral reliefs. Being hand made antique shades...there will even be a few manufacturing imperfections..like tiny bubbles there-in.
Again.....If you need “perfect”, don’t buy this ANTIQUE chandelier.
