Unusual Five Shade Chandelier Attributed to Riddle C. 1935 (ANT-917)

ANT-917  Unusual Five Shade Chandelier Attributed to Riddle C. 1935

Riddle experimented with fancy round designed chandeliers with drop in shades and since he was an aluminum foundry and a designer who loved loops and scrolls...and since he was one of the only makers who did experiment with this design...the attribution is quite deserved.

So...this lovely rounded frame, with original aged polychrome colors, is really quite a neat presentation and design.

In design...it is really simply unique. This is one attempt to protect the slip shades, of the time, from being knocked out of their holders by a child’s bouncing ball or by a cleaner’s errant broom handle.

This shade survival, being located by gravity and also sideways pinned by the light bulbs, was doubly ensured. And quite nice shade they are too! They are not a bright amber but more subdued.

This chandelier has been completely re-wired, in our UL shop, with new sockets to conform to UL guidelines. Each socket is capable of accepting a 100 watt bulb...but...we would recommend LED bulbs to protect the now older glass shades.

Measurements:  29” Tall by 20” Wide

Price: $ 1,250.00 Complete, UL re-wired Scarce five shade chandelier, attributed to Riddle, is valued at $1,250.00….plus careful shipping.
