ANT-844  Antique Mid West Mnf Chandelier Art Deco Streamline Slip Shade Fixture

Very nice 6-shade, slip shade, Art Deco chandelier by Mid West Mnf.  The Streamline Deco decorative elements of this 6-shade chandelier are really quite nice.  It has five slip shades with one socket each, and a bottom shade that contains two sockets.

The metal frame has the original antique finish, which is in pretty nice condition. The old, red-gold, crackle surface finish is surrounded by elements of matte pewter metal, complete with a tapered Deco center motif.

Mid-West really did know how to design iconic fixtures, and this one has a taste of Streamline Step Deco with all the restrained features of the Streamline design. Circa 1934-37.

Mid West called this series the Empire Series.  This chandelier differs just slightly from the catalog with a great Step Deco bottom shade that has two sockets within it for extra down lighting.  This might have been an option for more downward light projection.  The Empire family consisted of this 6-shade chandelier (top of the line); a three light chandelier; a two light pendant; and a wall sconce.

We have rewired this 6-shade, 7 light bulb chandelier to UL standards in our UL shop.  It has new sockets and lead wire, and is all set to go.  So, it's ready to hang with a standard light mounting kit, which we will also supply.
