ANT-839  Antique Pair of French Large Table Lamps

There are all kinds of quality of metal castings from various ages of the Victorian era.  The metal castings of these lamps are much better quality than most we have seen.  Each figure is signed in the casting with the artist's signature, and they are also impressed with the French casting company's touch mark.  These can be seen in the pictures we have taken.

The figures are representing some historical motif, as the books they hold do have a scribe in French -- pictures attached.  Nicely done.

• Width:  17" overall.

We have re-wired these table lamps to UL American standards, in our UL listed shop, with a new American center socket and cord switch.

The shades are fine linen...perhaps rayon...which are rather new, with a very nice antique styling. There is a fine floral design within the buff color background.

There is some minor rubbing on the figures (pictured) due to their age.  This should not affect the impression of these lamps, but we thought to mention it.  This can most probably be touched up...but that is up to the new owners, since we like antiques to be antiques.
