ANT-582 Very Unusual Art Deco Odeon Style British Motif Theatre Table Lights
Very neat shell motif set of British theater table lamps from England.
These lights are often called "Odeon," since one of the main movie house chains in Britain named all their theaters "Odeon." They vary in style...most popular was THIS shell motif. In older British theaters, you can still see them existing where they have been for over half a century, or more. Odeon is sometimes a synonymous term for a movie theater in Britain. Saying, "Let's go to the Odeon" is the same as saying, "Let's go to the movies."
Saying all that...this is the first pair of Odeon table lamps that we have ever had. Don't know what they were used for...but they did have British bayonet pin sockets in them when received.
The table lamps have brass bases, which have an antiqued bronze finish.
We have rewired these sconces to UL American standards with new American sockets in our UL shop. They do have short cords with in-line switches.
