ANT-509  Pair of Outstanding Solid Brass and Bronze Gothic Dragon Sconces

Solid brass/bronze griffins with spread wings, holding a pair of rather nice crackle glass shades from about the 1920s.

When received, they had European sockets in them, so the origin is a bit of a mystery.  We would guess either German or French by the type of casting and electrical wiring.   Wherever they are from, they are simply outstanding.

Measurements:

• Height:  22" overall, measured from the top of the backplate to the bottom of the shade.
• Width:  11 ½" (wing spread)
• Projection:  11" from the wall into the room.

We have totally re-wired these sconces in our UL shop with American medium base sockets and new supply wire.  They do not, and never did, have switches, since that is not necessarily a European custom.

We changed the mounting, as well.  It now mounts to a standard American electrical box (with the button shown above the dragon's back) to a standard American crossbar, which will be supplied
