ANT-1423 Solid Bronze Art Deco Slip Shade Chandelier by Mid-West Mnf.
It’s so nice to be able to offer another really fine light to you. Here we have one of the scarce lights of the Deco era from Mid-West Mfg. circa 1935.
This is the “top of the line’ SIX light (shade) Soleure chandelier. Mid-West only made the best quality lighting. This chandelier is solid bronze with a great aged finish.
The finish has variations of red bronze and brass mixed colors after ages of being wiped, cleaned and otherwise maintained. Just like a good oriental carpet, it shows it age and care.
The castings are so beautiful, with lots of pierced parts which are...and were... so hard to do as any casting man will tell you. The finish does have some minor variations but it also has a nice mellow appearance and most antiquers would not touch this lovely...aged bronze...finish. It is simply beautiful.
This light has been totally re-wired in our UL register shop, with seven new sockets and a new main stem wire. There are five medium based sockets…one for each slip shade and then two chandelier sockets for the bottom shade since medium bulbs would not fit inside that smaller bottom shade. In addition to the medium base sockets we will include a chandelier socket adapter to enable you to choose either type of bulb (medium base or chandelier base) since there are now a nice selection, and powers, for chandelier bulbs...and in this unusual high-end case...bulbs will be supplied.
The drop of this light now is 30 inches and it has a diameter of about 20 inches...shade tip to shade tip. The ceiling canopy measures about 7 inches in diameter. The five slip shades are in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. The bottom shade does have a couple of chips that are hidden by the metal frame…but are there. All shades match each other very well except the bottom shade, which has a bit of variation that is quite normal for a six-light chandelier.
Measurements: Overall height is 30" (more chain could be added to extend this length). Overall diameter, shade tip to shade tip, is 20".
A full mounting kit will be supplied...so nothing more to buy unless you wish different light bulbs than we supply.
