ANT-1402 Outstanding French Art Deco Large Pendant Light
How often do you see such a fine quality...totally different...Giant Pendant like this one?! Not often. Quality equals solid brass/bronze fittings with their original bright brass finish...well...slightly less bright due to some age, but still very effective. Quality. It just says Art Deco with every angle of the brass/bronze body and canopy.
Then there’s the shade...so outstanding and rare a shape and size, a Dark amber that is in the glass (not painted on). The shade itself measure a full 9” wide and 17” tall. Outstanding shade but like any item of this age...a bit of an issue. There is a chip at the fitter and not seen after mounting. Also, we think un-important...but...there is a small starburst defect...about the size of a pea...at the very bottom of the shade. Very strange...not seen before. We used our museum skills and coated the area, inside the shade...at the bottom, with UV glass filler glue. Doubt it will ever be seen or cause any trouble, but it needs to be known. We could not see this when we hung the fixture up and ceiling level.
Converting a French fixture to American UL is challenging to many and not without problems for our UL shop. We had to design a “code” applicable UL crossbar to mount to our standard UL electrical boxes...and we did that. Might be the only one in the world...but it fits!
So, completely re-wired to UL standards in our UL shop with one center socket—capable of a 200-watt light bulb. This is a modern medium base socket and it will come complete, in this case, with a tubular bulb that is shown in the photos. While the socket installed is a medium base socket...we are also including a reducer so chandelier based tubular bulbs could also be used. It is your choice but we wanted to given you the options for this fine light.
Measurements: Overall the fixture now measures 27” in height with a maximum shade diameter of 9”.
