ANT-1379 Streamline Art Deco 6-Light Chandelier by Markel
*This chandelier is part of a Suite of Streamline Art Deco Fixtures by Markel that includes ANT-1378 and ANT-1380. We are grouping these since they were pulled from a long dining room as a group. What an effect these items had!
The Art Deco SIX-Light chandeliers and matching series sconces are by Markel Electric Products, Buffalo, New York (ca.1935-37).
This chandelier has a unique center shade, within it’s own frame, to give the fixture a sixth light. It is for a chandelier bulb, and really, not many examples of this chandelier version exist. We will supply a LED small tube light for this center shade that lights this center shade very nicely.
As a note, Markel also sold a hall fixture that was just this single center shade hall light version. We assume that marketing suggested using this chandelier in the main room and lighting the hallway, with the single shade, leading away from that room.
The chandelier is made from sheet metal to complete the streamline ethic of thinner and crisper manufacturing while also having amber shades.
Re-worked and re-wired to current UL standards, with new sockets and wiring by our UL licensed lamp department. Minor things were adapted to conform to new UL standards. The five slip shades have normal, medium-base sockets. As mentioned though, we will include the tubular bulb that we used to light the center shade since we liked the effect it creates so much.
This six-shade Chandelier shows an impressed design on each panel and have a quite nice finial.
Measurements: 24" tall with a diameter of about 18 1/2" from shade tip to shade tip, this is truly a nice offering.
A full UL mounting crossbar set will be included with the fixture.
Price: The chandelier is $1,250.00, plus careful packaging and shipping.
