ANT-1279 Lovely Pair of 1920-30 Edwardian Red Bronze Finished Wall Sconces
Original antique sconces with a red bronze style coloring...in...pretty good condition for all this time.
We think that these sconces are French...not because of the styling but because we had to make special American style mounts for these sconces and the shades are simply the best of French glass making.
The sconces are just slightly in different arm angles, but when mounted apart...no one will notice it. The shades are really nicely unique too. Magnificent glass with heavily etched designs that are simply wonderful.
Neat too...that the shades can be turned direction to be either parallel to perpendicular to the wall. A picture of each position is shown.
These sconces have been completely re-wired in our UL shop with new sockets and all new wire. We have also replaced the rotary switches, made by Leviton in the 20’s...and were still made up to four years ago. So these switches, by Leviton are becoming even more antique as we note this.
Measurements: The Overall sconce height is 11”. There are two maximum widths and projections into the room...depending on how the shade is positioned. 1) A parallel, to the wall, mounted shade: width is 9 1/2” and projects into the room 9 1/4”. 2) When the shade is perpendicular to the wall...the width is 6 1/2” and the projection into the room is 10 3/4”.
Price for the Pair: $595.00 plus careful packing and shipping.
