ANT-1278 Unusual Art Deco “Odeon”-Style British Motif Theatre Sconces
A very neat shell motif set of the British theater sconces from England. These sconces are often called "Odeon Sconces" since one of the main movie house chains in Britain, named all their theaters "Odeon". They vary in style...most popular was THIS shell motif. In older British theaters, you can still see them existing where they have been for over half a century or more.
“Odeon” is sometimes a synonymous term for a movie theater in Britain. Saying “let’s go to the Odeon” is the same as saying, “let’s go to the movies”.
There are two things that make this particular pair of Odeon sconces a bit different and unusual. First...the shades, while being frosted glass, they also have tints of red irridescent touches of color. Secondly, the Sconces have frames which have an “original” antiqued finish. Normally, they were either nickel or chrome finished.
We have rewired these sconces to UL American standards with new American chandelier sockets in our UL shop. So, these are ready to hang with an American standard light mounting kit which we will also supply.
Measurements: 8 1/2" tall with a width of 10". Protrudes just slightly less than 4" into the room.
Price: $695.00 for this great pair of UL re-wired “Odeon” sconces with their unusual frosted/red accented shades...plus shipping charges.
