ANT-1274 Two-Shade Low Ceiling Fixture by Mid-West--Circa 1930-5
Mid-West designed Art Deco two-light low ceiling fixture with great clam shell slip shades and shows it in their 1935 catalog.
Mid-West was an outstanding company that survived the Great Depression that took many companies out. They had a standard that they never lowered, and the resulting work shows just that.
They were clever, too. They used this clam shell shade for two totally different lines. The first line catered to the early deco polychrome fixtures tastes, with curvilinear lines and motifs (this example). The second line embraced the new Art Deco Streamline movement.
This light has a nice pewter finish with great accents.
The shades are simply fantastic. No damage at all and have extremely rich colors. This light has a drop of a mere 8" and has a ceiling footprint of 15 1/2" long x 7 1/2" wide.
It has been totally re-wired, in our UL shop, with new 2 new sockets and lead wire.
Each slip shade socket can easily take a 100 watt bulb. We are also supplying the bracket (crossbar) for this light so literally, you can hang this light and have it working minutes after receiving it. Really a nice light.
Price: $750.00 plus careful packing and shipping charges.
