ANT-1272 Edwardian Ceiling Bowl Light with Puffy Style Shades
Circa 1900-10, it has been restored to fine condition and as can be seen, makes a great statement as to the antiquity of the light.
Pretty nice to find an unusual light with shades, still in this reasonable attractive condition. Yes, there are parts that show minor marks of age related living, but for the most part...this is an exceptional example of lighting with original shades.
Normally these lights have opal white or simple frosted shades...but here we have the Art Glass type shades that are often called Puffy after the Pairpoint works glass offerings. The design is actually “puffed” out and then reverse hand colored. Very attractive.
For the photographs, we used low wattage bulbs to take the pictures so the automatic lens would not be blown-out by the strong light. Naturally, we you place normal bulbs into this chandelier, the shades will glow nicely and more warmly.
This chandelier has been completely re-wired in our UL shop with new sockets and all new wire in our UL listed workshop. The arrangement is that there is a one medium size bulb in the large bowl and one each in each of the four side shades. This gives a nice lighting result.
Measurements: The Overall chandelier height is 36”. This could easily be shortened by removing chain links. The diameter is 20” shade tip to shade tip.
A complete mounting kit will be supplied with this fixture.
Price: $950.00 for the complete set with puffy shades and having been completely UL restored and re-wired and ready to hang...plus careful packaging and shipping.
