ANT-1239 Unusual 5 Slip Shade Art Deco Chandelier by Globe c.1935
Globe Lighting Fixture Mfg Co. was located in Brooklyn, NY on 7th Avenue and 12th street. They were not as big as companies like Lincoln or Markel, but, they did make some very interesting, and uniquely different Art Deco lights...and now...harder to find Art Deco lights.
This interesting chandelier is just such a “hard-to-find” and collectable item.
The cast frame has bold and striking lines and is finished in a pewter finish. It does have elements of the Art Deco Streamline design with matching concentric lines from the ceiling canopy to the bottom finial. Neat! The shades are a nice light amber as can be seen. A very striking look.
There is a rim of Mica panels in the bottom circle that are a little rough here and there but with a fixture this old, it is to be expected and, to us, appreciated for being there after so long. They could always be replaced with new Mica if bothersome...but...that is a decision for the new owner to decide...we liked them antiqued.
We have totally re-wired this chandelier in our UL shop with medium base sockets and new supply wires. Each socket can handle a 100 watt bulb. The center finial used to be an off/on switch but we have bypassed it since it did not meet UL approved standards now.
Measurements: Overall height is 22”. Diameter is 17”.
Price: Unique collectable chandelier by Globe...UL re-wired...with original amber shades: $950.00...plus shipping.
