ANT-1225 Antique Restored Pair of Virden Art Deco Wall Sconces
These sconces are from the “Ashbury Series” by John C. Virden, Circa 1935. Nice quality original cast backplates with an antique pewter finish. As with any sand cast antique, there are minor flaws in the castings since these were “hand” molded castings. They are signed, in the casting, “Virden” with a mold number as shown in the picture.
The shades are a nice amber color which was an option for the shades of this series. There were other colors as well.
Not much more we can say other than to document the actual 1930's manufacturer. Nice to document these sconces so precisely for construction and color.
Measurements: 10" tall with a width of 6" and they project into a room (from the wall) a mere 4”.
These sconces have been completely re-wired, in our UL shop, with new sockets and all new wire. We have also replaced the switches. They are ready to be installed and we will supply the full mounting kits to do so.
Price: Completely UL re-wired. Documented Virden Co: $750.00 plus careful packaging and shipping.
