ANT-1216 Pair of Slip Shade Art Deco Sconces by Markel
This series of Art Deco lights was made by Markel Electric Products of Buffalo, NY, Circa 1936 (a key year in the height of the slip shade lighting era).
These Art Deco Slip Shade sconces were made in cast iron with various finishes. This finish is simply great because it is Dark GOLD based with poly-chrome finished with green top accents and is totally original.
The AMBER, hammered effect, shades too are simply in fantastic condition. The amber shade coloration set into a nicely original finished frame is very striking. A very pleasant combination.
We have pictured the “cast in” Markel mark on the back of each sconce. Markel Electric Products with a design patent.
Measuring 11" tall with a width of 5 1/2", they project into a room (from the wall) a mere 3 3/4”.
These sconces have been completely re-wired in our licensed UL shop with new sockets and all new wiring. We have also replaced the switches, made by Leviton in the 20’s...and still made up to four years ago. So these switches, by Leviton are becoming even more antique as we note this.
Ready to go...nothing needs to be done except add the light bulbs of your choice.
Price: $750.00 for the complete pair...plus normal shipping with insurance included.
