ANT-1211 American Art Deco STREAMLINE Sconces by Virden
Cast 1939 Art Deco sconces that are in the Virden catalog #39 (i.e. 1939 as the catalog number reflected the year it was published.) These sconces were item 6001 from the Carleton Series and Virden bragged: “Underwriters Approved”.
The metal finish is pewter while the shades have that typical streamline concentricrings which are so very iconic streamline design and shade colors are all original and near mint.
There is a tiny roughness to the frames...not serious...but as cast and 1930's produced. It’s pretty plain in the pictures...not perfect...but nice antiques.
These sconces have been totally re-wired in our UL shop. Normal bakelite sockets for everyday medium base bulbs were installed. The sconces have a rotary switch for on and off. The sconce mounts with one normal sconce mounting all-thread to a normal electrical box from within the case. All mounting hardware will be supplied.
Measurements: Overall height is 7 1/2” from the top of the shade to the bottom of the metal backplate. Overall widest part of the case is 7” wide. Projects into the room 4”.
Price: $850.00 for the pair plus careful packing and shipping.
