ANT-1192  Art Deco 5-Shade Chandelier by Markel

Antique Art Deco Slip Shade 5-shade Chandelier by Markel. This chandelier, Circa 1935, was part of their "8800 series". This chandelier was Model 8815 which was the best of the five lights in this 8800 series. Their 1930's catalog says it has a spread of 20". 

Markel was one of the biggest companies working in the Great Depression and had locations in America, Canada, and Australia. They made a lot of the antique slip shade fixtures when found in antique shops today and were a quality company. 

Dark Red Bronze finish. The finish, while being cleaned up “a mite“, is original and simply beautiful to the max....if...you appreciate old patina. It can be lightened a touch by vigorous rubbing and solvents, but ...we left it as the original patina just cleaning off a bit of normal living. You cannot find a much better dark antique red bronze finish slip shade chandelier.

Wonderful condition. The shades are simply a treat and in remarkable condition.  Probably made by Consolidated Glass or another quality glass house.  

We re-wired this neat chandelier in our UL shop and it is ready to hang. An installation kit (crossbar) will be supplied.

Measurements:  Overall height 25” by 20” wide. This fixture could be lengthened by adding more chain links.
