ANT-1169 Pair of Lovely Art Deco Antiqued Sconces...Circa 1933
Pair of Antique Art Deco Slip Shade wall sconces by a firm in Cleveland, Ohio called: The Frankelite Co. Frankelite had a logo which was a stylized “F” in a diamond device and issued their products under the trade name of "Diamond Lighting Equipment".
These sconces, Circa 1933, were part of the group they named the "Fenwick Series".
Frankelite was a rather small firm, about which, very little is known. We have a few examples of their work, and they are always rather unique and attractive stand alone lights. The name and date of these fixtures is verified by literature from the company as stated above.
Wonderful “antique” condition. The shades are simply a treat and in remarkable condition. The shades were probably made by Consolidated Glass or another quality glass house. These metal sconces have their original, deeply brownish-red, antique finish. Very nice...very original and hard to find, but the finish is really antique. It has many places where the finish has worn through and the base metal is showing. We just dislike removing “original” antique finishes so the client, for these sconces, must also “love” to see the wear and tear of the ages.
We re-wired these sconces in our UL listed shop with new sockets and new rotary switches just like the old ones. Ready to go and really quite exceptional.
Measurements: Height is 11 1/4” and the width (max backplate) is 7” wide. Projects into the room 5”. All mounting hardware will be supplied.
Price: $850.00 for a pair of lovely Fenwick Sconces....plus shipping.
