ANT-1156 Set of Mid-Victorian Girandole Candelabra Marriage Set
Circa 1840 to 1860, this Americana set was normally a wedding gift to a son (or daughter) from their parents or most significant relative.
Since they would have had a honorable position in the new household, the relatives all decided the “who” would give the honor...unless of course...the new house had more than one fireplace.
This was an important gift in New England states...from Phili to New York as it was simply quality throughout. Cast Bronze metal finished in the ormolu French style on white marble bases with cut crystal drops. It does say nice things about the giver and recipient.
Pretty good condition being the age it is, the center triple candleabra measures 16” tall and also 16” wide. The white marble base measures 5” x 3”. Each single candelabra measures 14” tall and 5” wide (all before candles).
Crystal drops are in pretty good condition with very little roughness.
