ANT-1147  Antique Edwardian Pair of "Venus" Double Arm Wall Sconces

Pair of nice, double arm wall sconces....Venus arising from the sea motif. Solid brass with an antique finish complete with fine embossed amber glass shades included.

The shades are simply gorgeous and have a deep embossing and just look good from any angle in the room.  The shades themselves can be rotated so you can set them at any angle you like...whether it is at 45 degrees...or... straight-on...your preference. We took pictures both ways to illustrate the options.

The sconce are made from solid brass and re-wired, in our UL shop, to accept 100 watt bulbs and have normal medium base sockets for normal bulbs either incandescent or LED. These sconces originally had French sockets, which were changed, and we also made a special American style mounting crossbar since they had French mountings before.

The sconces mount with this special crossbar that picks up mounting screws at the very top and at the very bottom of the backplate. This is neat since it keeps the mounting threads well away from the image which is a main decorative element.
