ANT-1123 Lovely Americana Slip Shade 5-Shade Red Bronze Finished Chandelier
This fixture is beautifully cast by an unknown maker. The red bronze finish is original and simply beautiful. The marvelous shades must have been made by Consolidated Lamp & Glass Co. who were the absolute best.
Consolidated Lamp & Glass Co of Corapolis, PA was one of America’s finest glass makers before and during the Great Depression. Unfortunately....Consolidated went bankrupt no less than three times during the Great Depression. They made outstanding consumer products i.e vases, bowls etc and most outstanding shades and lighting.
Their products were the absolute BEST quality America had to offer to the world. Naturally, their pricing was also representative of these excellent products.
An interesting note, about this chandelier, is that it was created to compete against similar lighting made by Virden. Virden had a similar chandelier that is far more common than this lovely light, AND, we think that this competitor is far superior to that Virden design.
This fine chandelier is circa between 1931 and 1936 and is elaborating designs from the French Exposition Des Arts Decoratifs... of 1925.
Overall Measurements: 26” tall by 17” diameter.
This chandelier has been completely re-wired, in our UL shop, with new sockets to conform to UL guidelines. Each socket is capable of accepting a 100 watt bulb...but...we would recommend cooler-running LED bulbs to protect the now older. and finer, glass shades.
Price: A remarkable Art Deco chandelier, UL re-wired $ 1,450.00....plus careful shipping.
