ANT-1119 Pair of Nice Long, Shaped, Slip Shade Art Deco Sconces by Markel
This series of Art Deco lights was made by Markel Electric Products of Buffalo, NY, Circa 1936 (a key year in the height of the slip shade lighting era). This design was called the 4400-A Line as Markel rarely used names to describe their products. This was the only sconce made, using this shade, for this lovely shade series. We have the 1936 catalog and price list and this sconce was stock numbered 4401-A.
These Art Deco Slip Shade sconces were made from cast iron with various finishes. This finish is pewter with high and low contrasts.
The nicely shape and ribbed amber shades are simply in fantastic condition for their age.
These sconces have been completely re-wired in our licensed UL shop with new sockets and all new wiring. We have also replaced the switches, made by Leviton in the 20’s...and still made up to four years ago. So these switches, by Leviton are becoming even more antique as we note this.
Ready to go...nothing needs to be done except add the light bulbs of your choice.
Measuring 11 1/2" tall with a width of 5", they project into a room (from the wall) a mere 4 1/2”.
$ 750.00 for the complete pair... plus normal shipping with insurance included.
