ANT-1118 Pair of Lovely Art Deco Polychrome Sconces c1933
Pair of Antique Art Deco Slip Shade wall sconces by a firm in Cleveland, Ohio called: The Frankelite Co. Frankelite had a logo which was a stylized “F” in a diamond device and issued their products under the trade name of "Diamond Lighting Equipment".
These sconces, Circa 1933, were part of the group they named the "Fenwick Series".
Frankelite was a rather small firm, about which, very little is known. We have a few examples of their work, and they are always rather unique and attractive stand alone lights. The name and date of these fixtures is verified by literature from the company as stated above.
Wonderful condition. The shades are simply a treat and in remarkable condition. Shades were probably made by Consolidated Glass or another quality glass house. The metal sconces have their original polychrome finish of a few touches of various colors. Very nice...very original and hard to find this preserved. One sconce backplate is slightly darker than the other. This most likely occurred, over a period of years, when one sconce was in the direct sunlight while the other remained in a shaded area. When side by side--noticeable but when separated and mounted normally, very hard to discern.
We re-wired these sconces in our UL listed shop with new sockets and new rotary switches just like the old ones. Ready to go and really quite exceptional.
Measurements: Height is 11 1/4” and the width (max backplate) is 7” wide. Projects into the room 5”.
All mounting hardware will be supplied.
Price: $850.00 complete, ready to mount Pair of lovely Fenwick Sconces.... plus shipping.
