ANT-1075  Antique Restored Virden Wall Sconces

These sconces are from the “Ashbury Series” by John C. Virden, Circa 1935. Nice quality original cast iron backplates with original old gold antique finish. They are signed, in the casting, “Virden” with a mold number as shown. Picture shown.

The shades are the original cream color which was the most common option for the shades of this series. The were other colors, but this was the iconic standard finished shade.

Not much more we can say other than to document the actual 1930s manufacturer. Nice to document these sconces so precisely for construction and color.

Measuring: 10" tall with a width of 6" and they project into a room (from the wall) a mere 4”.

These sconces have been completely re-wired, in our UL shop, with new sockets and all new wire. We have also replaced the switches. They are ready to be installed and we will supply the full mounting kits to do so.
