ANT-1050 Pair of Moe Bridges Art Deco Slip Shade Sconces...Circa 1934
A well known name, in Art Deco Americana lighting, is “Moe Bridges”. There are exisitng catalogs, from the 1930s, that show his lines as well as a few reference books. These sconces come from the series that Moe Bridges called the “Etruscan Series”.
These sconces were presented in their 1935 catalog. The frame is cast iron and supplied in an original pewter finish. There is some roughness to the top of one of the sconces as can be seen in the pictures. (sconce on the left). It is commensurate with it’s age and manufacture. The asking price does reflect this minor condition. The shades are a “deep” amber color and present a nicely carved detail design thereon.
