14-CL4-DK Flush Mounted Close Ceiling Light Fixture with 4" Shade Fitter in Antique Brass
14-CL4-OB Flush Mounted Close Ceiling Light Fixture with 4" Shade Fitter in Oil Rubbed Bronze
A Vintage Hardware & Lighting Exclusive: A very nice impressive solution to low ceiling lighting. Created from antique references, we present the 14 Series. We made this special light in an Antique Brass Finish, to blend with most period decor.
Glass shades are sold separately.
We pulled a mold for this light from our 900-pound bronze entry doors that were made in 1870’s by Winslow Brothers of Boston. Our doors originally graced the Boston Bank that was in Manhattan in the 1870’s.
The fitter comes from known examples at the turn of the century. Put these two items together and make them by the lost wax jewelry making process, and you have one heck of a nice light for low ceilings. Not thin metal, but heavy high relief castings that you can be proud of and that also have a known provenance.
Measurements: This particular item has a fitter of 4". The metal has a height of a mere 3” plus. The canopy diameter is a nice hole-disguising 7”. The overall height of the fixture will be determined by which shade you use.
We do offer a few different shades, along with the overall size when used with this close ceiling light fixture. They are the 085G ball shade or the 0172G art deco square shade.
Fixture comes with a normal medium base porcelain socket rated a more than 300 watts capacity. However we do not recommend these higher wattages unless holes are drilled into the fitter to release heat. 100 watts is normal.
