This style has been popular since mortised doors were created.  From early farmhouse or cottage, through Victorian and Edwardian times, right through to the 1960's, if "one size fits all", it's this style.  Even High Victorian homes would feature a fancy door plate on the "public" side of the room, and have a simple plate on the "private" side.

Measurements:  10" tall by 2 3/4" wide.  Distance between the center of the doorknob receiver to the center of the round keybit is 2 1/4".
