A beautiful, lyrical, Art Nouveau door plate for interior doors, for when a skeleton keyhole is needed. This lovely Art Nouveau Series is all solid cast brass. We offer this suite in different finishes, which can be ordered by clicking the drop-down "Options" menu, located above.
Art Nouveau was popular from the late 1800's through the Edwardian times of the early 1900's. Graceful, flowing lines that highlighted the beauty of nature distinguish the style. See an oval doorknob with Art Nouveau flair. Our simple flowing lines doorbell would look nice alongside this series of door plate. It's pictured here also.
Looking for the matching doorknob? Choose from our feather panel style doorknob, or the classic ribbon design doorknob. Both are sold as a set, with two doorknobs plus connecting spindle, for top value. You can also use the completely plain brass doorknob set. For a more luxurious choice, try our oval scroll design knob.
Measurements: This series of door plates measures 2 3/4" wide x 10" high.
Center to center distance is 2 1/4", as measured from the doorknob receiver (which has an 11/16" inside diameter) to the center of the round part of the keybit.
For extra thick doors, you may purchase an extra long square doorknob shaft spindle separately, which may be trimmed as needed. We have a great selection of doorknobs that would work beautifully on this door plate, including our oval scrolled doorknobs.
How far from the edge of the door is the center of your doorknob? This is the backset, and determines which latch or mortise lock you use. For a 2 3/8" backset, we offer a tubular latch, and a privacy tubular deadbolt latch option. Very narrow panel doors, or doors with lots of glass, may need a 1 3/8" backset passage latch.
If you prefer a full mortise lock with key function and mortise lock with privacy turnlatch function, we have 1 3/4", 2 1/4" or 2 5/8" backset. If you also need a turnlatch knob, we have an oval knob turnlatch, and the popular crescent shape turnlatch.
