ANT-499 Pair of Slip Shade Art Deco Sconces by Markel
This series of Art Deco lights was made by Markel Electric Products of Buffalo, NY, Circa 1936 (a key year in the height of the slip shade lighting era). These Art Deco Slip Shade sconces were the only sconces made for this series of slip shade lights.
The original finish is simply superb, i.e....so near- mint condition. The shades, too, are simply in fantastic condition.
Measurements:
-
Height: 11"
-
Width: 6 ¾"
-
Projection: 3 ½" from the wall into the room.
These sconces have been completely rewired with new sockets and all new wire. We have also replaced the switches, made by Leviton in the '20s...and still made up to two years ago. So these switches, by Leviton, are becoming even more antique as we note this.
Ready to go...nothing needs to be done except add the light bulbs of your choice. We would recommend our LED candelabrum bulbs, 35C-E26 if you wish ambient light rather than full room power. The ambiance of these bulbs is warm, and draws so little electricity (1.6 watts) that we have known folks that leave them on 24/7. The bulbs do have an expected life of 25,000 - 30,000 hours.
$750.00 for the complete pair...plus normal shipping with insurance included.
