ANT-1308  Very Impressive Large French 5-Light Allegorical Chandelier

Circa 1910-20. This unique impressive antique cast chandelier is simply the best quality.

It measures 45” tall by 34” diameter and has five arms with allegorical faces.

It is completely brass/bronze and cast nicely by French artisans. The shades are amberina-style, in nature, flowing from a yellowish/amber to the ruby tipped leaves. Very pretty.

Another outstanding decorative element is the center cluster, which is lined with amber mica. There is a socket, inside this center, for a light bulb. The strength of the bulb will determine how bright the center mica becomes. So...a Larger wattage bulb...more pop...or use a small bulb...more subtle. That center bulb changes through the bottom of the fixture with rounded ball head screws. You can see these in the close-up.

We completely re-wired this fine French chandelier and removed the French sockets to convert them to our American medium base bulb sockets. We have installed our small LED bulb in each shade, which does not protrude past the amberina-style glass (the bulb is our stock number 45G-E26B). This bulb does have a nice warm incandescent feel rather than the shocking white so often seen in LED bulbs. We will include these bulbs with the chandelier.

There has also been a conversion from French to American UL mounting to the ceiling. A full UL American mounting kit will be supplied.
