ANT-885 Lovely Set of FOUR Circa 1910 - 1920 Edwardian Red Bronze Finish Wall Sconces
This unique design crosses so many decorative statements...Art Deco...or...Arts & Crafts...or...Gothic...and even Edwardian.
Original antique sconces with an original red bronze style coloring...although...like a good oriental carpet, it is subdued and mellow and even has tiny bits of wear. They are in pretty good condition after all this time. However, we like antiques to look like antiques, so we just cleaned them up a bit. Pictures do show just how good these finishes are.
ONE sconce had a minor slot made in the side of the frame. We assume it was for wiring. Once the shade is installed...it more or less disappears from view given its position. We took a picture of this one sconce compared to another.
The amber & clear shades are really nicely done. Heavy cast glass with heavy clear embossed designs with an amber body. Just so attractive.
These sconces have been completely rewired in our UL shop with new sockets and all-new wire. We have also replaced the rotary switches, which were originally made by Leviton in the 20s, and still made up to three years ago.
Measurements:
-
Height: 12" overall.
-
Width: 6 ½" maximum, which is the shade diameter.
-
Projection: 7 ½" from the wall into the room.
Price for the Set of Four: $875.00 plus careful packing and shipping. The price DOES reflect the one sconce with that notched side. So quite a good deal really for a period set of 4 sconces.
