ANT-1335 Set of FOUR Art Deco Williamson/Beardslee Period Sconces
These sconces came from the series that Williamson called: “Series Thirty”. And here we have some history demonstrated. They are all signed and have the name Beardslee impressed (see pics). Fascinating to know the history as below:
History: Beardslee bought-out Williamson during the Depression and during the name switchover, you do find sconces and chandeliers with both names put into the castings. Circa 1930’s, the frames were cast and then artists hand painted the remarkable variation of poly-chrome colors. Really quite attractive.
These sconces are just lovely...with lovely polychrome coloring that is simply striking. Polychrome colors, near mint, shades-all signed...a great find!
Electrical: These sconces have been totally re-wired in our UL shop. They now have chandelier-based sockets for which, we suggest nice LED chandelier-based bulbs be installed. We like to preserve as much as possible and still meet UL current code since we are a UL shop.
The sconces mount with one normal sconce mounting all-thread to a normal electrical box from within the case. All mounting hardware will be supplied. An off/on rotary switch has been replaced with an identical one that Williamson/Beardslee used. It can be seen below the shade.
Measurements: 12” tall by 7” wide & projects into the room from the wall 6”.
Real value is to find a matching set of 4 desirable, great condition sconces.
Price for the Complete Set of Four: $1,650.00 as seen. Careful shipping is a bit extra.
