Mount either high (aprox 15") or low (aprox 4") by flipping leg over.

Wall mount fancy rail bracket, measuring 9 1/2" tall(low mount layout), with an 8 1/2" movable leg that flips up for easy cleaning access under your bar rail.  7 1/2" from floor to bottom of bar.  Overall height when assembled is 15 1/2"(high mount layout).  Projects 9" from the wall.

An elegant touch for a wooden stair rail as well, or consider using a brass rail instead of wood.
